Families in Scotland affected by deaths in custody are coming together on Saturday 30 October 2021 to remember our loved ones through a vigil, and to make our collective demands heard by presenting a letter to First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
We are organising this event as the United Families & Friends Campaign (UFFC), a UK-wide coalition of those affected by deaths in state custody. The network includes the families of Sheku Bayoh, who died following police restraint in May 2015 in Kirkcaldy, and Allan Marshall who died following prison officer restraint in March 2015. For the first time our families are coming together to make our joint demands as the United Families and Friends Campaign in Scotland. We are supported by many other bereaved families across the UK who support us and our campaigns for justice here in Scotland.
Please join us at our memorial vigil and show your support for the families.
Time and date: 12.30pm Saturday 30 October 2021
